SOME NEWS - NEXT VERSION, AND PRICE PROMOTION It's been a while since we updated LSN, but you will be glad to know that we are working on a new update right now. I will post some more news about this as soon as we have made some decisions about what to include. We are still open to suggestions about priorities - just reply to this email if you have a strong opinion about something to improve LSN. Also, we will be launching a special Valentines day price promotion. Details will be mailed out shortly. Owing to a glitch in our mailing system some of you didn't get the last newsletter, so I am resending all the vital information in this email. VERSION 3-10 RELEASED – WITH TROOP NAMING! The latest update for LSN is now available – and you can now give your troops individual names! We have also fixed 3 ‘exploits’ which allowed players who knew about them a slightly unfair advantage. After a year of collecting game data it seems that the game is very finely balanced, but we have made a few minor changes to Greys for their ‘internal’ balance. Although all the factions have virtually equal success rates, some of the Grey units are being neglected in favour of others. Sentries have been made slightly worse, with 1 less energy, and slightly worse accuracy. Psyker attacker take slightly more time to come into effect. The Warper and Saucer have been boosted slightly with a little more energy. If you haven’t bought LSN yet, check out the new demo here: http://www.lasersquadnemesis.com/DownloadDemo Subscribers should log in to the web interface to download the full version: http://codo-linux1.bytemark.co.uk/LSN NEW FREE TRIAL ACCOUNT OFFER For those of you who wish to take advantage of our new free trial offer for online play, you will now be allowed to take part in the world league and gain an official player ranking. PLAY ONLINE WITH YOUR OWN MAPS You can now design a map, upload it to our server, and play online against other players. If our map moderators think it is good enough it will be added to the general map pool for random selection and league play. You add up to five maps, and you can edit them after testing at any time. MAP MODERATORS NEEDED This brings us to the next topic. We would like to have some more volunteers to be ‘map moderators’. This involves testing new maps uploaded by players with other moderators, and deciding which maps should be added to the general pool and the random pool. You need to be able to judge a good map from the game play point of view and/or the aesthetic point of view. Map Moderators can also edit any maps to fix errors or balance problems. You should be an experienced player, and willing to spend a little time testing. Please reply to this email if you are interested. FIELD INSTRUCTOR SYSTEM We introduced a new ‘Field Instructor’ system a little while ago, which is open to all subscribers with at least 25 games under their belts. The instructor options are accessed via the ‘Recruitment and Training’ link in the Web Interface. You can be matched up with a trial player for one or more training games. If the player upgrades his account you earn 1 month’s extra subscription. The best recruiter of the month is entered into the Hall of Fame. Log into your Web Interface to get more details. COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS That’s it for this newsletter. Feel free to reply to this email if you have any comments, questions, suggestions or problems with Laser Squad Nemesis. Thanks for playing.
